From Dare to Care Food Bank, a fantastic holiday tale. Larry, a 9 year-old boy, did what many boys his age do – he wrote a letter to Santa Claus. Larry’s request, however, was atypical of most addressed to the North Pole. Larry wanted food for his family. The Post Office sent Larry’s letter to WBKI-TV who put it in the hands of our friends at Yum! Brands. Yum!’s staff persuaded the Post Office to get a letter to Larry telling him Santa asked Dare to Care Food Bank to help. On the Wednesday before Christmas we met Larry, a smiling young man with a slight affliction with Cerebral Palsy. His parents expressed deep gratitude as they loaded their car with food. Our true thanks came when Larry smiled a wide, crooked smile and wished us all a Merry Christmas.
